New Blessings Upon Us
|
As I look around at what's transpiring in the world today, it's about time to let go of fears for safety and take up the notion that we will all be okay, given time to heal our nation. Best of all, I am truly grateful for the fact that I can breathe!
I do pray that the years ahead find me mentally alert, always curious, socially important and spiritually alive. But for now, my job is to embrace and give thanks to the many blessings that occur, each day, all around. In a manner of speaking, these special moments can be considered as stepping stones, bringing along greater hope and joy for the future.
In her book, "The Gift of Years, Growing Older Gracefully," Joan Chittister writes "These are the capstone years, the time in which a whole new life is in the making again. But the gift of these years is not merely being alive-it is the gift of becoming more fully alive than ever."
I believe we all owe it to ourselves to take stock and drink in the pulse of life as we are reminded of current events and its many surprises we're being visited with today. I keep reminding myself that it is the positives in life that keep us healthy, just as dwelling on uncontollable events is detrimental to the spirit.
Who said "It too will pass". Hamlet, Dr Phil? At any rate, please have a fruitful day, my friends, blessed as you are, and reminded cherish your special blessings, each day, every way !
